Vasa International School of Stockholm is an independent Swedish primary and secondary school with an international heart located in the center of Stockholm. The school was founded in 1998 and has been authorized by the International Baccalaureate® (IB) to teach the PYP (Primary Years Program) since 2007 and MYP (Middle Years program) since 2017. We are looking for a substituting PYP2 teacher (Swedish grade 1 teacher) at Vasa International School of Stockholm should be able to perform the following duties:
Create inspiring and well-scaffolded units of inquiry in all subjects for 6-7 year old students.
Create an inspiring and well-structured learning environment in which the teacher is the clear leader of the classroom and where the students can thrive.
Create learning experiences that are relevant for students and which are based on clearly established success criteria.
Collaborate with colleagues to share best practice and create inspiring interdisciplinary learning activities for students.
Showcase the students' work throughout the building and on social media when appropriate.
Be able to teach in English and English as a second language.
Balance the IB and Swedish national curricula with guidance from management and fellow teachers.
Enjoy being outside with students and using nature as a teaching tool.
The first working day is October 1st 2020 until June 18th 2021.
