As powertrain engineer in our R&D function, you will be involved in all phases of the design process, from new development, customer orders, product modification and maintenance to testing at the test mine facilities. The work involves system design together with suppliers, bill of material, testing and documentation.
You will work with the powertrain components such as diesel engines, coolers, transmissions, drivelines, axles, and tyres. The work involves matching the different components to a well-balanced system including calculations, testing and documentation. You will mostly work in project format with new development projects, product maintenance, base development and customer orders.
Skills & Knowledge
• Educational orientation of vehicle /vessel /combustion technology
• Experience of working with drive train installations or genuine interest in motors and machines.
• Knowledge about electrical drivetrains is a merit.
• Preferable practical experience of working with CAD systems
• Proficient in MS-based applications such as Word and Excel
• English both written and spoken and preferable also Swedish

We are looking for driven and motivated Powertrain Engineers to join our teams and work in the Research and Development (R&D) department within Atlas Copco Underground Rock Excavation (URE).
A change in the construction of underground machines has started. Since 1873, Atlas Copco has developed innovative products and solutions for mining and tunneling industries. The development towards electrification and automation creates new challenges and new opportunities on how to build the machines and what characteristics we can provide the machines with to gain better performance. We are now looking for the right people to join us on this exciting journey!
Atlas Copco URE has a large program of machines used in tunneling and underground mining operation.
