At the School of Business, Society and Engineering our students are studying to be for example Bachelors or Masters of Engineering, political scientists and business administrators. Here we have the research specialisations of Industrial Engineering and Management, and Future Energy. Position description
We are looking for a postdoctoral fellow interested in conducting a research project with a focus on climate and/or energy justice. The duties consist of conducting high-quality research, both independently and in collaboration with other researchers, communicating research results, arranging seminars and meetings, and to contribute in the writing of grant proposals. Some teaching responsibilities in the subject of political science may be included, but not to a greater extent than one fifth of the scope of the position.

Our research in political science covers all subfields within the study of politics and international relations. We study, among other things, climate-induced migration, socially sustainable development, sustainable urban planning, municipal self-government, local risk and security management, Chinese politics, as well as gender equality and masculinity. We also collaborate with already existing research environments within, e.g., the Future Energy Centre, the research school Future Proof Cities, and Resilient - Energy Systems Competence Centre.
The position is a temporary employment of 2-3 years.
Qualifications requirements
The applicant is required to have a PhD degree in Political Science or some related field. The applicant must have completed the degree no more than three years before the end of the application period.
The applicant must demonstrate good ability and great future potential to conduct high-quality research. Research experience in the field of climate and/or energy justice is not a necessary requirement, but the applicant must be able to demonstrate research experience in areas such as political theory, democratic theory, environmental policy, environmental ethics or similar subject areas. A brief (1-2 pages) plan describing the research the applicant wishes to carry out in the field of climate and/or energy justice must be included in the application.
The applicant is expected to be organised, show attention to detail, be able to work independently as well as with colleagues. Good cooperation skills are therefore a requirement. The position also requires good verbal and written communication skills in English.

Merit
Documented experience of international collaborations in research, high quality scientific publications in addition to the doctoral thesis, other assignments in research, e.g., working as a research assistant, writing of grant proposals. Knowledge of the Swedish language and of Swedish society is advantageous but not a requirement.
