MAX IV Laboratory has operated successfully for more than 30 years and is currently commissioning the new MAX IV synchrotron facility in Lund. Fully developed it will receive more than 2 000 scientists annually, from Sweden and the rest of the world. They will do research in areas such as materials science, structural biology, chemistry and nanotechnology. 200 people are currently employed at the MAX IV Laboratory.
MAX IV is the largest and most ambitious Swedish investment in national research infrastructure. It will be the brightest source of X-rays worldwide when inaugurated June 2016. MAX IV Laboratory is hosted by Lund University.

Dina arbetsuppgifter
The tasks include:

• Actively participate in Domain 2 (FZP-nanoprobes) of the SOLEIL-MAX IV collaboration.

• Lead the installation, test and commissioning of the nanoprobe station of NanoMAX in collaboration with the staff at the beamline, and within established collaborations. 
• Develop strategies for data acquisition and data visualization in collaboration with the IT and software group.
• Participate to the operation of the beamline and provide support to external users during operation.

Kvalifikationer
• PhD in natural sciences in subjects of relevance for NanoMAX. A person who holds a doctorate and who has completed the degree within three years prior to the last date of application shall be qualified as a postdoctoral fellow. Candidates who have completed their degree earlier than this can be considered if there are valid reasons. 
• Demonstrated knowledge of x-ray techniques of relevance for NanoMAX and experience with the use of scanning imaging approaches using nanobeams.
• Experience in interfacing hardware/ setup data acquisition
• Experience in writing software for data analysis.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently

Experience in the use of nano-positioning devices is an asset as is the experience in working in an international and strongly demanding environment.

This is a qualifying appointment with the intention of being an initial career step.
