hela Sverige Postdoctoral Position: Understanding the role of epigenetics in regulating human alveolar macrophage polarisation and function in COPD

Additionally, we'll encourage you to attend and present at international scientific conferences and publish high-profile papers.
Your major responsibilities
• Dissecting out the role of epigenetic regulation in driving human alveolar macrophage polarisation to M1 and M2 phenotypes
• Determining the effects of targeting epigenetic regulators on some key alveolar macrophage functions
• Working together with experts from across multiple disciplines, both within AZ and in the academic community, to build knowledge and set up state of the art techniques
• Communicating results within AstraZeneca and externally at meetings and through publications
• Publishing scientific papers in high ranking journals
Minimum experience
• A PhD-level education (or equivalent)
• Experience of epigenetics
• Respiratory and inflammation disease area knowledge
• Experience of working with human lung tissue-derived cells and using immunoflorescence techniques
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• The ability to independently design and execute incisive experiments and interpret results
Preferred experience/requirements
• A commitment to science and strong attention to detail
