The Department of Medical Epidemiology and Biostatistics (MEB) is among the largest departments of epidemiology in Europe with special focus on increasing our knowledge of the aetiology of different diseases. Our department consists of researchers, doctoral students, biostatisticians, data collectors and database administrators as well as administrative personnel, in total some 250 staff. Workgroup and duties

The proposed studies are based on large ADHD cohorts identified from national health registers, the Swedish twin register and clinical cohorts.

These datasets contains valid diagnoses of ADHD, prospective measures of environmental risks, high throughput genotyping, longitudinal information on prescribed ADHD medications and assessments of serious medical (cardiovascular, neurological, and psychiatric problems) and functional outcomes (academic and occupational).

The successful candidate is expected to apply advanced epidemiological analytical methods (quantitative genetic and/or pharmaco-epidemiological approaches) to explore how genes and environments influence ADHD across the development and to identify the benefits and risks associated with ADHD treatment interventions across multiple medical and functional outcomes.

Entry requirements
A person is eligible for a position as Postdoctoral Researcher if he or she has obtained a PhD no more than seven years before the last date of employment as postdoc. The term can be extended under special circumstances. The PhD should be in psychiatric epidemiology.

Experience and knowledge that is required

1) Expertise in epidemiological study design/analyses, including register-based genetic and pharmaco-epidemiological approaches.

2) Expertise in register-based research using Swedish national registers.

3) Prior experience with from research on ADHD and other co-occurring neuropsychiatric conditions.

4) Prior experience from being an international post-doc.
