We can offer well-equipped laboratory facilities for performing research and good academic network in Sweden and abroad.
Subject description
Machine learning focuses on computational methods by which computer systems uses data to improve their own performance, understanding, and to make accurate predictions and has a close connection to applications.
Project description
Natural Language Processing will be applied to the output of text recognition algorithms to improve recognition accuracy and to enable analysis of the results. Research should be conducted in Machine Learning, especially Deep Learning for applications in the area of Pattern Recognition (e.g., natural language processing, document processing, robotics, eHealth, unsupervised learning, and time series analysis). The Postdoc should furthermore strongly participate in acquisition of future projects.
Duties
The duties of a postdoctor primarily comprise research. Teaching and pedagogical development work may be included in the duties, up to a maximum of 20% of the working hours. As a postdoctor you will also participate in the acquisition of future projects.
Qualifications
In order to be eligible for employment as post doctor you must have a PhD or a foreign degree equivalent to a PhD in Cumpter science or some above-mentioned areas . A doctoral degree awarded no more than three years before the application deadline provides a useful qualification. Candidates who have been awarded a doctoral degree at an earlier date may also be considered if there are special grounds, for example, different types of statutory leave of absence. You should also have some experience in international research project collaboration. It is expected that you have practical experience in at least two of the following topics: Deep Learning, Natural Language Processing, working with low-resource language data sets. We are looking for you who can conduct state-of-the-art research and who has good knowledge of English, both spoken and written, and has the capacity to work independently as well as in a team. Participation in international research projects is advantageous. As Luleå University of Technology is very strong in applied research, industrial experience is very welcome.
