Position description
Five research organisations, together with more than 30 companies and public actors, are part of a new Competence Centre within Resilient Energy Systems. The aim is to increase knowledge and competence about the transformation of the Swedish energy system, towards high reliability and resource efficiency, as well as low environmental impact. Focus is on knowledge of how sector couplings between transport infrastructure, industry and the built environment, including business models and organisation, can create a resilient energy system. The Competence Centre is coordinated by the Future Energy Centre at Mälardalen University.

We are now looking for Postdoc for the project "Regional scenario analysis of electrified logistics and production sites in energy positive or self-balancing cities- ELOGE" within Resilient Energy Systems Competence Centre. The transition towards fossil-free transports and their energy infrastructures will be an important development for the resilient energy systems on a regional level. The power capacity and fluctuations in electricity prices can be both challenging and open up for new opportunities and needs of changed behavior and optimization of processes and actions. At the same time current and coming regulations as well as existing and on-going future plans on both municipality and regional level give the framework for what actions can be taken and when. In this project, this will be investigated with scenario analysis as the basis and with the aim to increase knowledge on the framework for actions for different actors to contribute to a resilient energy system. The positions involve working within the research specialization Future Energy Center (FEC).

The postdoc researcher are expected to take initiatives, be creative and take responsibility. Furthermore, the tasks interact closely with industrial partners. Thus, the applicants need to have high collaborative skills. The researcher also need to be able to disseminate and communicate scientific results and knowledge within existing and new networks, which include academia, industry and society at large. The research results will be presented at project meetings, conferences and in peer-reviewed scientific journals.

The position is a temporary employment of 2 years.

Qualifications requirements
The applicant is required to have a PhD degree in energy engineering, electric power engineering, civilor environmental Engineering with focus on energy issues.

The applicant must have completed the degree no more than three years before the end of the application period.

The candidates should be able to show research experience in national and/or international projects on renewable energy systems and power systems; and good command of written and spoken English.
