The Raoul Wallenberg Institute of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law is an independent academic institution. The Institute is named after Raoul Wallenberg, the Swedish diplomat, in order to honour his work in the cause of humanity. The mission of the Institute is to promote universal repsect for human rights and humanitarian law by means of research, academic education, dissemination and institutional development. Summary: The Raoul Wallenberg Institute of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law in Lund, Sweden, offers candidates who recently have been awarded a PhD/LL.D. in international human rights law or humanitarian law, the opportunity to apply for a two-year Postdoc position under the Department for Research and Academic Education. Candidates for the position are requested to submit an outline for a research project, or ideas to a number of projects, that can be further developed and initiated and finally result in strengthening the Institute's international research environment.

Job description: The Postdoc position entails:

• Individual research in the field of international human rights law, preferably related to general human rights law and practice, minority rights law, or humanitarian law;

• Give lectures/seminars and otherwise participate in activities related to academic education, all as per agreement with the Head of Department;

• Participate in the the activities of the Programme Department, including travelling with in the International Programmes, all as per agreement with Head of Department;

• Submit research plan for the two-year period on yearly basis;

• Report to the Head of Department.

Qualifications: The applicant shall have:

• A PhD/LLD no older than two years with the specialization in human rights law or humanitarian law;
• Professional experience in areas relevant to the Institute's field of activities;
• Analyitical, interpersonal and pedagogical skills;
• Cultural sensitivity and judgement; and
• Fluency in English, and/or other language relevant to the Institute activities.
