Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) is recruiting up to two Post-Doctoral Research Fellows in the Economics of Peace and Security. We are seeking candidates with an interest in the economics of security and terrorism in OECD countries (Position A), or the economics of conflict and peacebuilding in developing and transition countries (Position B).

SIPRI is an independent international institute dedicated to research into conflict, armaments, arms control and disarmament. Established in 1966, SIPRI provides data, analysis and recommendations, based on open sources, to policymakers, researchers, media and the interested public. SIPRI provides excellent opportunities for scientific and personal development.

All candidates should have a strong background in applied economics, statistical methods and econometrics. Fluent English is a pre-requisite; experience in providing evidence-based policy advice and obtaining external research grants would be an advantage.

Position A requires familiarity with the economics of security and terrorism in Europe and OECD countries and, ideally, knowledge of German and experience with composite indicators.

Position B requires experience in household survey data analysis and impact evaluation and, ideally, knowledge of Kyrgyz or Russian and experience in Central Asia.

Contract period: Initial appointments will be for two years (renewable). Part-time employment may be considered. SIPRI is an equal opportunity employer.
