Karolinska Institutet

The Department is organized in 10 divisions: Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatrics, Pediatric Endocrinology, Pediatric Surgery, Pediatric Neurology, Pediatric Oncology, Neonatology, Reproductive Endocrinology,Child Psychiatry, Reproductive and Perinatal Health. The divisions have separate scientific profiles and vary in size and have several research groups, dealing with both basic and clinical science.

Division
Center of Neurodevelopmental Disorders at Karolinska Institutet (KIND)

KIND is a competence center for research, development and education within the area of developmental   psychopathology. The center is established in collaboration between   Karolinska Institutet and Stockholm County Council, and aims at generating high   end basic research, improving clinical practice, and spreading new knowledge   to stakeholders. The Roots of Autism Twin Study Sweden (RATSS) is an on-going   research project within KIND, focusing on monozygotic twins being discordant   for autism spectrum disorder and other neurodevelopmental disorders such as   ADHD. Twins are examined on multiple levels, among them functional and structural   neuroimaging using MRI. Scanning is performed in the Karolinska Institutet MR   Research Center, using a 3 Tesla MR scanner (GE MR750).

Duties

As a post-doc or an engineer, you   will be responsible for the MR spectroscopic imaging part of the project in   close collaboration with the department of Clinical Neuroscience. MRSI-1H MR   spectroscopic imaging will be used as a complementary method to resting-state-functional, diffusion and structural MRI. The MRSI part will include the metabolic map   reconstruction software development or adaptation of available packages. The   MRSI quantification will be based on LCmodel while post processing: metabolic   map reconstruction should be re-designed.
