The successful applicant will be required to combine own research work (80 per cent) with MIM institutional duties (20 per cent).

In order to qualify for this position, the candidate must have:
• A PhD, or equivalent academic merits within the subject area International Migration and Ethnic Relations (IMER)
• Documented skills in quantitative methods and research
• A clearly defined research plan
• Documented experience of research coordination and collaboration
• Documented fluency in written and spoken English

Selection criteria
Assessment of candidates is based on their degree of proficiency and ability with respect to the qualifications listed above.

The Department of Global Political Studies is a multidisciplinary research and teaching environment comprising seven subject areas: European Studies, Peace and Conflict Studies, Gender Studies, International Migration and Ethnic Relations (IMER), International Relations, Human Rights, and Political Science. The department's degree programmes and research activities focus on global processes of change and the specific and evolving consequences for societies and individuals.

The position is placed at the Faculty of Culture and Society, Department of Global Political Studies and managed by the Malmö Institute for Studies of Migration, Diversity and Welfare (MIM). The MIM research institute was established in January 2007 as a research institute at Malmö University. It is a vibrant and prominent Swedish Centre for research on migration, diversity and welfare, while at the same time keeping a high international profile.
