The role of Portfolio Manager (PM) is part of the International Program Department at Save the Children, and within that works in the regional team responsible for Middle East, North Africa and Eastern Europe (MENAEE).
MENAEE team supports operations and programs of Save the Childrencountry offices across the region, this includes active programs in Ukraine, Poland, Palestine, Syria, Iraq, Lebanon, Yemen, Kosovo, Turkey, and other countries. The MENAEE team works in Stockholm, Alvik Strand, and consists of 5 members and closely collaborateswith colleagues working within funding, advocacy, technical thematic expertise, communication and finance teams.
The Portfolio Manager is overall responsible for strategic management of programmes under his/her geographic area and has budget responsibility for awards/projects up to 10m SEK. This includes oversight of projects and awards, acting as a process driver, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders such as: country offices, regional offices and other member offices to ensure alignment with country strategic plans and Save theChildren Sweden's (SCS) annual plans. The PM is responsible for managing the full lifecycle of awards from AMS(Award Management System) from activation to closeout in accordance with the Award Management process. The Portfolio Manager coordinates and contributes to proposal development efforts and oversees compliance monitoring and quality assurance of results. The PM also contributes with contextual insights to communication, advocacy, and new business models to secure sustainable funding in line with SCI (Save the Children International)and SCS (Save the Children Sweden)strategic priorites.The PM reports to Regional Director.Depending on the situation in the MENAEE region and other geographic locations specific focus on coutnries will be decided for selected PM.
ARE YOU OUR NEW COLLEAGUE? To succeed in the role, we expect applicants to have the following qualifications:
Academic degree within relevant field and/or equivalent professional experience
Profound experience from programme management in the international developmentand/or humanitarian sector, including proposal and reporting coordination as well as budgeting
Demonstrated ability to work in a changing, multi-cultural environment and establish effectiveworking relationships
Experience from working in the Middle East or Eastern Europe or equivalent complex humanitarian environment
Excellent writing and communication skills in English.
Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office

It is advantageous if you haveexperience from project management and if you understand rights-based and result-oriented development/humanitarian work and anunderstanding of the non-governmental sector.International experience from development and/or humanitarian work and experience in working with international donors and understanding of their requirements - among others: ECHO/Sida/UN/EU is valuable. If you haveadditional languages skillse.g. French, Spanish, Arabic, it isan asset.As a person you are cooperative and acts as part of the team and include others. You have an ability to see what needs to be prioritized, are efficient and uses resources to best achieve results. Furthermore, you are results oriented and work from the business's goals and prioritizes actions that have the greatest effect and takes responsibility for achieving goals. In addition to this you see logic in complex information and have the ability to see long-term solutions.
