What's in it for you?
At Volvo Car Torslanda, you are part of a committed production team in a global network that makes sure that the cars we build meet the highest expectations from our customers. In our assembly plant in Torslanda, we work with lean, clean and flexible production technologies - with a firm focus on people and continuous development. Each production team has an overall responsibility for quality, finance, delivery and team development.

The VCT finance team has the overall responsibility for challenging and supporting the operation in all financial and business-related activities both short and long term; we work with inventory, investments, manning efficiency as well as inbound freight, facility management and all other manufacturing cost. The plant is producing, at full capacity, 300 000 cars per year and is one of the biggest car manufacturing plants in the world.

What you'll do
With challenging dialogues, follow up and interaction with the operation you as a Plant Controller will play a major role in this journey towards our future. Your main area will be the assembly shop that consist of over 2500 operators that produces cars in 3-shifts. Main challenges will be to steer the shop in the right direction and prioritize amongst all the various initiatives that exist in order to improve efficiency and increase ownership for the total cost including material flow, investments and manning.

Focus will also be on making financials more understandable for the operation in order to increase a business and holistic mindset within the operation and the management team where you will be a key player. The role requires good operational understanding and the connection between operation and finance will be crucial. In this role you will be part of both an operational management team and a financial team and you will also have a global network of controllers throughout the world to collaborate with.

We are looking for you who has a University Degree in Economics, Finance or similar. You have at least 5 years of relevant work experience within finances and/or operations. You are fluent in English (speaking and writing) and you have good computer skills (Power BI, PowerPoint, XLS, SAP). Knowledge from global manufacturing is beneficial.

As a person you are enjoying work in a fast pace environment, as a new car is rolling out of the plant every minute. You are good at understanding and explaining the reality behind the figures and the figures behind the reality. You can change focus between holistic and detailed view, e.g. shift between talking 4bsek long term investment with the management team, to review scrap cost with our operators.

You are flexible and have good cooperation skills - since we are a finance team of 4 that are responsible for a plant of 6000 FTEs, 8bsek of cost, 1,5bsek of inventory and yearly investments of ~1bsek, we need to work together as a team to solve all types of challenges and (re)prioritize activities.
