Our strategy in Cardiovascular, Renal, Metabolic R&D is to focus on ways to reduce morbidity, mortality and organ damage by addressing multiple risk factors across cardiovascular (CV) disease, diabetes and chronic kidney-disease indications. This patient-centric approach is reinforced by science-led life-cycle management programmes and technologies, including early research into regenerative methods.

Role

The position as part of our Pipeline Strategy Management (PSM) group, will support the delivery of portfolio analyses, reports, assessments and support overall portfolio strategy for the CVRM Therapeutic Area. These deliverables will help support decision-making by both project teams and Therapeutic Area Leadership Teams (TALT) and therefore contribute to the achievement of PSM and business objectives.

Responsibilities

Portfolio Management - Maintain a detailed understanding of the shape, drivers and milestones of the therapeutic area portfolios. Assist in developing recommendations that can be used to make robust decision-making for the TA portfolio. Support data quality across the TA data set.
Problem solving - Use structure and methodology to work with data and solve complex problems or questions. Work through complex problems and use analytical ability to interpret and communicate them effectively. Looks beyond the obvious for innovative and simple solutions.
Portfolio and Resource Strategy - Support portfolio strategy by providing and analyzing key data and criteria. Use outputs to drive key strategic approaches and support the development of TA strategies, and resource planning. Work with project teams to support improved decision making as needed.
Performance Management - Support the development and tracking of TA objectives to enhance portfolio delivery and value. Ensure all reporting and analysis adheres to high quality and consistency standards
Industry Benchmarks - Distill internal/external data into useable and accurate information that will inform key TA portfolio decisions
Decision making tools - Use/build decision making tools to support improved decision making across the portfolio.
Leadership - Independently drive for results and brings ideas to action
Collaboration - Work closely and collaboratively with the Project Managers, Analytics team, PSM management, and TA Leadership Team to support business decisions.

Requirements

To succeed in this role you will have a proven analytical skill set with demonstrated attention to detail. You will relish problem solving challenges, and have an understanding of the cardiovascular-renal-metabolic disease therapeutic area.

ESSENTIAL

BS or BA degree in Business, Science, Finance, Market Research, or similar subject
Understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and drug development process
Significant experience in a similar analytical role gained within the pharmaceutical industry, or consulting
Proven ability to work with data sets
Strong strategic thinking, decision making, and problem-solving abilities
Leadership skills, including collaboration and ability to influence without authority
DESIRABLE

Strong academic record in courses requiring business analytics and research
