Background:
We are looking for a talented PhD student for a project with the aim to secure the connected car.
A modern car contains a complex internal network with around 100 connected
computers (ECUs). The next generation of cars will also be connected to the
Internet and many new services will be offered to drivers and owners.
The project addresses security in this environment, e.g. architecture, internal as well as external communications (WLAN, CAN, FlexRay, ...) and software development issues such as quality and safety aspects. The person selected will
be employed by Volvo Cars as an industrial PhD student. PhD studies are expected to take five years.
Required Qualifications:
• MSc in Computer Engineering or related field of engineering.
• You must have a profile with communications and security courses (computer networks, computer networks advanced, computer security, network security, cryptography and programming language security)
• The average grade of all your courses should be 4 or higher
• Engineering skills and experience within Vehicle electronic
• Skilled in Vehicle data communication, CAN, LIN and Flexray network
• Experience of embedded programmin
• High general computer skills
• Engineering skills and experience within Volvo Cars
• Previous theoretical/empirical experiences in the connected car area
• Previous experiences in penetration testing
• Fluent in both written and spoken Swedish and English.
