Pharmacist to the Research Department
The research department at the Uppsala Monitoring Centre (UMC) in Sweden is looking for a pharmacist to fill a temporary position, whilst one team member is on maternity leave.
The UMC holds the world’s largest database of spontaneously reported adverse drug reactions (ADRs) from 86 countries. The unique WHO individual case safety report database (‘VigiBase’) currently consists of over 4 million reports of possible side-effects. Consequently, one core task for the centre is to detect and describe potential drug problems. As a centre of excellence in ADR detection, we also work with several other healthcare data sets. The UMC is an independent centre with a strong research focus, and offers a fascinating working environment. The research department develops methods used to highlight emerging drug safety issues and also leads in depth analyses of safety problems.
The research department is currently looking for an energetic and motivated person who will be involved in research projects based on VigiBase and other healthcare datasets.
