Postdoctor in Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance Imaging
formally based at the Department of Medical and Health Sciences
Duties
A Postdoctor will essentially carry out research. The position may also involve teaching, but during no more than a fifth of work time.
The postdoctor will be responsible for the MRI acquisition method in a couple of cardiovascular research projects. Specifically, development of efficient acquisition of time-resolved 3D flow MRI, DENSE MRI, and/or quantitative MRI (T1, T2, and proton density) will be the focus. Furthermore, the postdoctor may be involved in other parts of the projects, as image processing and visualization. Work within this new position will be a part of the research conducted within the cardiovascular MR group (www.liu.se/cmr) at CMIV (www.cmiv.liu.se).
Qualifications
The position requires a doctorate degree in physics, electrical engineering, biomedical engineering, computer science, or a related field and have experience in cardiovascular MRI and medical image analysis. The doctorate shall have been obtained no longer than three years before the expiration date of the application.
Experience with pulse sequence development, preferably on a Philips MRI, and computer programming (MATLAB, C or C++) is an advantage. The ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team is required.

Appointment time
The initial appointment is intended for one year, with the possibility to extension to a maximum of two years.
A Postdoctor is appointed until further notice, but for no longer than two years. The appointment can be extended further if there are special reasons.
