Work description
Ascom (Sweden) AB is currently looking for a patent engineer who will be responsible for managing the company?s current and future intellectual property portfolio, which includes patents, trademarks, industrial designs and domain names.
In this position you will among other things capture new ideas, conduct patentability assessments, prosecute patent and trademark applications in-house and/or in cooperation with outside counsels, perform freedom to operate and infringement investigations, monitor competitors? IPR activities, propose and implement new intellectual property processes and assist in the drafting/review of license and collaboration agreements. You will also promote and increase the awareness of the importance of intellectual property within our organization.
Internally you will work with the R&D, marketing and sales departments and senior management. Externally you will cooperate with our business units, law firms, external patent attorneys and government agencies.
Qualifications
• Master of Science degree preferably in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• You must be skilled in understanding, describing and analyzing technical aspects and have a genuine interest in law and legal matters.
• Some years of experience in patent work from industry, private practice or government authority is a clear advantage, as is a wholly or partially completed EQE.
