We focus on large-scale development of 2nd generation biofuels based on lignin with a currently low value added - but with high energy content. Thanks to a combination between proven technology in biochemistry and pharmaceutical manufacturing, we can now refine the lignin to a sustainable, CO2 neutral, liquid biofuels. The innovation may, by rapid scale and market penetration, in a few years successfully compete against fossil diesel and gasoline as it uses existing infrastructure, distribution and fits the current vehicle fleet.
Together with other chemists scale-up the transformation of lignin into a fuel derivatives to tonn scale. More specifically:
• Perform organic reactions
• Optimize reaction conditions
• Analyze the reaction mixtures
• Purify the reaction mixtures
You need to have a college degree with a specialization in chemistry, with a specialization in organic chemistry. Research experience is a merit and also documented interest and experience in the research field.
