hela Sverige GEODIS | Freight Forwarding is looking for an Operations Manager with passion for leadership and customers, who will manage the operational business for our Ocean department in Norrköping.
Your role
Our office in Norrköping handles both ocean and air freight forwarding.
As Operations Manager Ocean you are responsible for the daily operations, both import and export. The department consists of 10 employees, who coordinate ocean freight for our customers in the region.
We are looking for a leader who acts as an ambassador, with passion for developing and motivating others. At GEODIS, we are aiming for a leadership that promotes the spirit of Investors in People. As Operations Manager, you will manage the daily operational business and be responsible for the department's performance and results. You will work in close relationship to the customers, tactical as well as operational, to ensure qualitative processes and delivery.
Your key accountabilities will be:
• Responsible for daily operations
• Full staff responsibility for 10 direct staff
• Motivate, inspire, develop and engage your team
• Manage employee development and Performance Management according to company policies
• Implement and align company processes, policies and routines
• Manage financial business result, turnover and KPIs
• Responsible for departmental meetings and continuous follow-ups with the customers
• Work in close cooperation with Account Managers
• Responsible to manage procurement where needed and in alignment with relevant process
• Profit and loss responsibility
As Operations Manager Ocean you will get the opportunity to manage a positive and enthusiastic team with a great team spirit. You will be placed in our office in Norrköping and report directly to the Branch Manager.
Your background
To succeed in this role we believe that you have a vocational education or equivalent. You have 3-5 years' experience from freight forwarding, preferably within Ocean and extensive knowledge about the logistics industry. You have leadership skills and preferably experience of leading other people.
Other requirements necessary for the role:
• Financial and business impact understanding
• Knowledge in International Trade
• Experience from working in a process driven environment
• Ability to develop the business with the three stakeholders' interest in mind - customers, owners and employees
• You communicate professionally, both orally and written, in English and Swedish
• We are looking for a person with leadership skills and the ability to develop team spirit and commitment within a team. You communicate clear objectives and expectations and involve your employees. You have a high drive and work hard to reach your and your teams' results.
