Within Seco Tools Purchasing department, our experienced and well established team of 14 tactical- and operational purchasers ensures the procurement of material and goods needed for production within our global network. By effective strategic purchasing, they ensure the most efficient cost, quality and reliability, and with a stable portfolio of existing suppliers, they continually work to identify possible new ways to improve the efficiency and profitably of the business. We are now looking for a Purchaser for an operational role, mainly responsible for the purchasing of goods and services to support the production entity. The location for this position is Fagersta, but the work is conducted in an international environment.
Key performance areas
As an Operational Purchaser, you are responsible for analyzing information regarding delivery dates and business requirements, in order to match the right quality at a reasonable cost and in accordance with specifications in documentation. You write purchase orders and ensure that IT systems are compliant and supporting that documentation is correct. Managing existing suppliers is one of your major tasks and, as we work in an international environment, you need the ability to effectively build lasting networks.
You ensure compliance with internal and external policies, guidelines, regulations and laws and take care of the administration of order acknowledgements and other confirmations, as well as follow-up. You also handle delivery-tracking issues and, accordingly, take action on deviations from order acknowledgements or purchase orders and inform affected internal customers about deviations accepted. Lastly, your work is conducted according to established processes, systems and tools as well as established delegations and authority matrices, and one of your tasks is to update and maintain correct supplier data in relevant systems.
Some business travel within Sweden is a part of this position.
We are looking for someone with a degree in Business Administration, Industrial Economy or Logistics and at least three years of experience from working within purchasing. Knowledge of Movex is an advantage. Since we work locally but in a global setting, you have good skills in Swedish and English, in both writing and speaking.
