Job Scope
High level purpose of function
The factory organization is a team enabling the delivery of a lean, scalable, and digital factory development of an extendable, flow optimized highly efficient world class battery factory. The industrialisation team will organize existing content while also developing new content to enable a comprehensive solution spanning process, equipment, materials, factory and process material flow, facility and utilities.

The Operational Model Specialist is responsible for operational modeling of the large-scale battery factories built for Northvolt System and actively shaping manufacturing footprint decisions. The operational model covers production allocation, the ramp-up phase and the steady state operation and gives a strategic look ahead in production capacity of the upcoming years (strategic horizon). The productions network includes own facilities and facilities at contract manufacturers. The Operational Model Specialist work cross-functionally across the project to drive fact-based decision making as well as support other ongoing strategic initiatives.
Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to)
Overall areas of responsibility and activities
· Drives and manage the manufacturing engineering footprint decision process
• Drives and manage the Northvolt System operating model, and work closely with the business and supply chain to deliver on targets
• Plans, implements and defines targets for cross-functional teams for the ramp-up of new facilities regarding capacity and produced volumes
• Leads the allocation process of production lines inside the wider Northvolt System factory network by considering business and market needs
• Has the governance of production planning process and leads the production planning network in Northvolt System
• Designs and has the governance of the process of production flexibility (volume) and defines responsiveness measures to ensure the resolution of missing production volumes
• Work cross-functionally across Northvolt System to follow up on strategic initiatives, operational performance etc.
• Support in reporting to senior management and external stakeholders (such as investors, customers, suppliers and partners)
• Support Finance Team in funding efforts, such as building financial cases for future expansions
• Support the development and implementation of analytical tools

Requirements
Education or other qualifications or competences relevant in order to succeed in the job

Qualifications/education/experience
• Master of science or higher degree in mechanical, industrial, or electrical engineering or equivalent
• Knowledge of Logistics, Supply Base Management, Purchasing, Engineering and Manufacturing is beneficial.
• Ability to prioritize and manage across multiple, often time-sensitive requests.
• 2+ years in a management consulting company or similarly demanding analytical environment
• 5+ years in manufacturing, logistics or operational production


Specific skills (eg specific programmes, languages, certifications etc)
• Project/Program management tool kit including scheduling and project leadership
• Leadership qualities and ability to build trust and motivation with key stakeholders to ensure implementation of initiatives
• Strong skills in analytical modeling (Excel mainly) and presentation skills
• Manufacturing site design and ramp-up experience including detailed manufacturing problem solving
• Knowledge of Construction, Supply Base Management, Purchasing, Process development, Engineering and Manufacturing.
