The procurement team "EMS, Boosting, EGR and Hot end Exhaust" contains of 10 people that are managing Engine Management System (electronics and software), fuel injection, ignition- and glow system, sensors, actuators , turbo chargers, superchargers, EGR and hot end exhaust including substrate, washcoat and PGM within Powertrain Purchasing. We purchase material to advanced projects, new projects and running production for all VCC:s Engine and Vehicle manufacturing plants.
We are now looking to fill a position as an Operational Buyer within the EMS team where you will be responsible for ECM SW and HW etc. In this position, you have the opportunity to join the exiting journey of Volvo Cars - a truly Global Company. Role & Responsibilities
* Act on design changes within the projects
* Secure the correct bought capacity. If necessary lead capacity installation at the suppliers
* Issue purchase orders and make other transactions, updates and reports
* Establish action plans on part-specific supplier issues in running business
* Strive to attain constant improvements and increase efficiency by e.g. establishing a supplier base in accordance to VCC overall strategies
* Be a part of a Global Commodity Council
* Represent VCG and Purchasing towards the supplier base
* Work toward short and long term targets
* Participate in cross functional teams with Engineering, Quality and Cost Estimating
* Work toward individual targets
* Frequent supplier contacts in day-to-day business
We are looking for someone with the following background and skills
* Commercial or technical university degree or equivalent.
* Negotiation and commercial experience is an advantage.
* Technical knowledge/experience/interest is an advantage
* Computer skills (MS Office) are required, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
* Fluent in English, written and spoken
* Purchasing and/or project leader experience is seen as an advantage
* VCC purchasing experience and preferably also in SI+ and VCC routines and processes is considered as an advantage.
