Do you want to work with some of the systems and parts that really makes a Volvo Car behave and feel like a Volvo Car on the road? Chassis purchasing team is now looking for an Operational Buyer within the wheel suspension area. You will be part of a team with eight buyers and you will be responsible for the daily business within your area. The group belongs to Chassis Purchasing and we work with brakes, steering, wheels and tyres, fasteners and, not least, wheel suspension.
As an Operational Buyer you are responsible for the daily business with our suppliers and cross functional teams with other professions within Volvo Cars such as Research & Development, supplier quality management and capacity management.
Main responsibilities
* Responsible for the daily business with our suppliers
* To assure you have control over capacity, cost levels for your parts. (ex. of parts included in assortment are wheel bearings, bushings and control arms)
* Being purchasing responsible in teams working with finding improved solutions for our vehicles and/or supplier set ups.
Required qualifications
* Economical alternative technical education at university or similar
* Able to create, plan and drive your own work and deliver result in time
* Excellent creative negotiation skills and really enjoys to negotiate
* Good skills in communication, a must in English and preferably Swedish as well
* Confidence in an international environment. The suppliers are both Asian, European and American, which requires different approach depending on nationality and culture.

* Motivated by identifying/enabling/creating new solutions and new business opportunities in your area
* Positive and flexible mind set, enjoys working in an ever-changing area
* Good skills in team cooperation
* Being able to manage situations where solutions might not be found in existing processes
Development possibility
We believe that you, in due time, will be interested in and able to develop to take on the role as one of our highly qualified purchasers.
Meritorious
* Experience of working as commodity/product buyer or likewise at VCC/other company is meritorious.
* Experience working within the Chassis area within for example Research & Development or Product Strategy is meritorious as well.
