This mid-level position as an Online Infrastructure Engineer will be part of the always evolving Uplay PC development team. Your primary role will be to make sure the backend server infrastructure can withstand the pressure and flexibility needs of a live online platform with a multi-million unique user base every month. You will work closely with programmers in the team and administrators within the Ubisoft group across the globe to help deliver a great online experience for Ubisoft PC players. This way you make sure we maintain and develop our platform to serve the needs and wants of our users. Because, in the end, you make sure our players can play the games.

This is a permanent position based in Malmö, Sweden, and requires working onsite.

Responsibilities

• Develop, build and manage server infrastructure

• Work closely with software developers on all things related to Uplay PC

• Consult on the platform's software and data architecture to ensure maximum scalability

• Provide 4th level technical support (when Customer Service can't resolve the issues) and partake in the on-call rotation

Qualifications

Required skills and experience
• Knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux)
• General knowledge of different network solutions and technology (DNS, DHCP, Firewall, Load Balancer, VPN, L2/L3 Routing)
• Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, PowerShell)
• Knowledge of configuration management tools (Chef, Salt Stack, DSC)

Bonus skills
• Knowledge of different database systems (SQL, NoSQL)
• Knowledgeable in scalability techniques beyond simple master-slave
• Knowledge of different storage solution and technology (NAS, SAN, IP-SAN, Storage virtualization, backup, DR)
• Knowledge of different server solution and technology (X86, Blade, Rack, Tower, Dell, HP, IBM)
• Experience of working for large IT organizations
• Experience of working with "Cloud Service Providers" (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure)
