Greenpeace Nordic is hiring a Systems and Network Administrator eligible to work in Sweden or Norway on a full time permanent contract to join our IT Operations team. Your role
The Systems and Network Administrator is responsible for the proactive maintenance, monitoring, troubleshooting, backups, security and installation of our internal, external servers and cloud hosted systems as well as the networking infrastructure for the Greenpeace Nordic offices and office services such as video conferencing systems, phone systems and printers. The role will also manage and work closely with the Operations team to provide automated deployment of hardware and device management services and provide and plan trainings to end users and colleagues for systems and services as directed by the IT Operations Team Lead.

The role supports all offices where Greenpeace Nordic is present, remote workers as well as volunteers, guests and visitors. The Systems and Network Administrator is line managed by the Head of IT but works under the operational task management of the Nordic IT Operations Team Lead.

Your responsibilities

• Manage and develop the office IT infrastructure environment and related documentation
• Manage infrastructure and groupware support tasks
• Manage infrastructure, hardware and cloud services procurement
• Ensure users of IT services receive appropriate training
• Ensure supported IT assets are handled according to organizational standards
• Participate in and contribute to the yearly planning process
• Participate in on-call support rotation for end-users and provide troubleshooting for escalated issues
• Ensure that all processes and procedures according to the organizational standards and policies
• Manage IT Operations projects as assigned by IT Operations Team Lead
• The role is expected to occasionally travel primarily to offices in the Nordic region

Your education and experience

• A minimum of four years of system and network administration work experience with Linux and Windows servers and common network hardware
• Proven capability of being able to plan and execute on server administration and/or networking infrastructure projects
• Proven capability of being able to automate deployments on cross platform client devices
• Excellent understanding of cloud based and virtual servers and network architecture, preferably with Google Cloud Platform and/or VMware
• Excellent understanding of hard- and software troubleshooting
• Excellent understanding of communication in an IT support role
• Excellent understanding of infrastructure information- and endpoint security
• Proficiency in the English language

Beneficial experience

• Proven capability of bash and/or powershell scripting
• Excellent understanding of disaster & recovery implementation & strategy
• Experience training users, preferably in a remote setting
• Experience in administering MDM solutions
• Experience in macOS / iOS administration
• Proficiency in procurement of hardware, software and services
• Proficient in a Nordic language
