Main accountabilities within the role of Nordic Packaging Technologist:
• manage and deliver, solutions to assigned activities, on time and in full
• work in multifunctional teams (with the European R&D team, Brand Building, Customer marketing, Supply Chain and Procurement, finance and other associated functions)
• develop and adapt packaging solutions from a portfolio of existing solutions
• work with selected suppliers (Packaging material and Warehouse/Repacker) in development work
• assess packaging to ensure it is fit for purpose (by completing testing and trials), modify as necessary to meet customer requirements, shopper requirements, functional parameters, cost targets, manufacturing & shipping requirements
• create packaging instructions for the repack facility and to support them in building the new repack solutions
• implement new display solutions into the Nordic business
• ensure that we have harmonized Nordic repacking portfolios
• comply with the Unilever Code of Business Principles and all SHE and QA policies, including the support of product claims, risk management and environmental awareness.
Job Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Packaging, or Engineering, equivalent education or skills obtained through previous employments
• 1-2 years relevant working experience in a FMCG environment is required (Packaging development, Supply chain or Supply Management), preferably with specific experience in in-store display and corrugated packaging
• experience of working in a project-based form within a FMCG environment is desirable (proven track record of project delivery)
• knowledge and basic technical competence in packaging, in particular corrugated structures and decoration
• procurement knowledge and understanding of packaging cost drivers is a plus
• must have good computer software skills: Spreadsheets (Excel), Presentations (Powerpoint)
• knowledge in SAP is good to have
• fluent English is required
• ability to travel within Nordic with occasional overnight trips.
In this role we are looking for someone with desire to work in a fast moving environment which means bias for action and proactive way of working. It's of importance to have good communication skills and always keep consumer and customer in focus. The role requires you to be structured and able to take accountability and responsibility for given tasks. Flexibility in work style, effectively organize and make priorities in a dynamic environment are other key areas. You also need to be able to work in multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural teams located on various sites.
