Our office in Gothenburg is conveniently located near the central station.
We are looking to recruit a Network & IT Coordinator to be responsible for general IT maintenance, service and support.
Key Activities
• Maintain, troubleshoot and administer the use of the local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), network servers and computer workstations and peripheral equipment
• Evaluate and install computer hardware, networking software and operating system software
• Operate master consoles to monitor the performance of computer systems and networks and to co-ordinate access and use of computer networks.
• Ensure servers and workstations are updated with latest critical software patches and anti-virus definitions.
• Load computer tapes and disks and install software and printer paper and forms.
• Provide problem-solving services to network users.
• Implement data, software and hardware security procedures.
• Perform routine network start up and close down and maintain control records.
• Perform data backups, restores, and disaster recovery operations.
• Implement network traffic and security monitoring software, and optimize server performance.
• Respond to requests for help and information from web site visitors and web site designers.
• Perform user training as required for network, computer and software usage.
Requirements
Degree/Certification in Computer/Information Technology and
a good understanding of the core concepts involved in PC computing. Experience working in a switched network environment, routing, configuring VLANs, virtual private networking, controlling latency, network optimization, remote management, and redundancy.
Familiar with:
• Servers and workstations with front end connectivity powered by Cisco network devices, Cisco PIX type firewalls and ASA series security devices.
• Windows XP, Windows 2000/2003 Server and certain flavours of Linux.
• Active Directory, including policy management and software delivery.
• Exchange Server 2000/2003.
• Veritas Backup Exec software.
• Symantec Anti-Virus Corporate solution.
Experience with maintaining virtual environments and with entire Microsoft office suite (install & configure) as well as
Experience/talent for network security and vulnerability analysis and streamlining and optimizing connections.
The successful candidate should have excellent communication and team working skills. Furthermore you are result oriented with a forward thinking approach and have proven problem solving skills and are able to work independently. You should be available to work after hours when required by the business.
