Are you interested in being a Network Engineer based in Uppsala/Stockholm Sweden OR Cupertino, California?
As a Network Engineer you will be responsible for the worldwide network architecture including design and implementation and uptime. You will also be responsible for the interconnectivity of the offices to the rest of the MySQL global corporate infrastructure. You will handle the daily contacts with ISP's and other local contractors involved in the office server infrastructure. You will also have daily contact with the EMEA/USA IT group. You'll be required to have occasional travel to Europe and Asia.
Duration - Starts in Q4 2007
Essential Duties:
• Responsible for office network equipment and services, Co-location network equipment services, and world-wide VPN connectivity (Easy-VPN/DMVPN/IPSec)
• Design and Implementation of QoS and firewalls
• Shall have daily contacts with the IT group in Sweden/USA from US time zones
• Available to be on call on a 24/7 basis to support P1 incidents in the corresponding technology systems
• Document the network such that peers in the IT Infrastructure Team can assist in trouble shooting situations
• Execute network requests on the MySQL infrastructure requests worldwide (requires knowledge of a number of custom systems such as the remote management, DNS, router configurations, and MySQL topology)
• Participate in weekly meetings at times that accommodate multiple time zones
• Travel to Sweden/USA and participation in major changes to the primary MySQL data centers.
• Design and Implementation assistance with the external and internal DNS and DHCP services.
Work experience required:
• 5+ years of Linux experience
• 5+ years of Cisco experience
• Experience with Linux routing
• Experience with HP ProCurve Switches
• Programming skills in Perl or other scripting language
• International traveling experience
Education required:
• Bachelors degree in technical emphasis or equal.
Required papers
• Valid passport and papers for travel to all countries
