We offer you the opportunity to work around the world along with the Volvo Ocean Race, representing the Volvo brand as a Global Host/Hostess.
The Volvo Ocean Race is the leading round-the-world yacht race for teams, with a series of stopovers that give fans the chance to see the boats up close and experience the spectacular in-port race series. For over 40 years, the Volvo Ocean Race has provided the ultimate test in sailing, with a human drama and sporting excitement on a scale like no other.
The route comprise 12 cities in 11 countries - Spain, Portugal, South Africa, Australia, China, New Zealand, Brazil, United States, UK, Gothenburg and The Netherlands. The race will start October 22, 2017 and finish on June 29th, 2018 in The Hague.
What will your work day look like?
The Global Hosts/Hostesses will work as guides and brand ambassadors in our pavilion. It is your responsibility to welcome new visitors, interact with them during their stay, presenting products and technology. You will also collect leads, give guided tours in various languages in the pavilion and in the Race Village, as well as assist with other matters when needed. You, the global team, as well as a local team, will be accountable for the pavilion and its visitors, providing good service and a pleasant visit. You will be the ones representing the Volvo brand, why your service and attitude must always be at its best.
The journey will begin in September with approximately one month of training in Gothenburg, Sweden. You will be employed as a consultant at Adecco.
Who will enjoy this role?
Your energy, positive thinking and social skills will make you the right person for this position. With your personal maturity, focused attitude and customer approach you will be successful as a Global Host/Hostess. You are an outgoing and flexible team player who appreciate serving others, and you cooperate with ease, since the global team will be working tightly together for several months. Moreover, you are a humble person, curious and hard working. You are used to work or live in an international environment and do not hesitate to take the lead in front of groups in the languages you master. You are bilingual, fluent in at least English and one other language, preferably Mandarin, Portuguese, Spanish, French, Russian, German, and Swedish. To be trilingual is beneficial.
We will require a high proficient level of your second and third language, thereby a multicultural background is of advantage. An interest in technology and experience from sales and service is also beneficial in this role. If you have experience or knowledge in sailing or experience from working with events as well as previous experience from Volvo, this could facilitate your role. We see that all Global Hosts/Hostesses have a driver 's license.
