GKN Aerospace Engine Systems ("AES") is a global manufacturing and service supplier in the Aerospace Engine sector. One of the world's largest independent aero engine suppliers, AES is headquartered in Trollhättan, Sweden, with facilities across Sweden, North America, Norway, India and Mexico and is part of GKN plc.
Within GKN Engine Product Sweden in Trollhättan we are now looking for a Manager of Manufacturing and Quality Engineering within Value Stream Cases. The main responsibility is to develop and maintain a competitive Value Stream MQE-team (consisting of own and deployed staff) with focus to deliver GOLD-performance.
The Manager of Manufacturing and Quality Engineering will be a full accountable member of Value Stream Cases management team and will report to Value Stream Manager, Cases.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and prioritize the activities within the team of Manufacturing and Quality Engineers to both reach the delivery targets and to secure expected quality, delivery and cost of product/process improvements
• Focus on robustness to reduce the amount of disturbances within the value stream, both caused internally and by supplier (Castings).
• Secure efficiency within the MQE-team
• Implement new process technologies into the value stream
• Use of continuous improvement tools and policies to achieve the goals
• Development of staff and working methods is a natural part of our daily work. You will have the responsibility for internal environment and personal health and safety
• Be responsible for the department's budget
• Be an active part in the strategy work for the Value Stream and Manufacturing Engineering
• Ensuring visual management and visual leadership including recognition, coaching and constructive feedback to managers and employees
• Responsible for and leading the Value Stream Quality and Delivery Clinic.
We are looking for a target-oriented person with a strong drive to deliver and constantly develop and improve the team. You are a firm leader with an interest and ability to lead and develop your employees. The position requires an outgoing personality with great collaboration skills as well as ability to work independently. Strong customers focus and good communication skills are essential, also the ability of networking and creating relationships.
You have a technical background, preferably at academic level
• A minimum of 5-years of industrial experience in manufacturing engineering and/or other relevant experiences
• Demonstrated ability to lead a team in delivering results on time, with a high focus of quality, while always maintaining a business mindset
• We also believe that you have the ability work independently as well as through your team and cross functional in order to meet established goals and targets
• An analytical mind with the capability to communicate in both Swedish and English
• An outgoing, open-minded, and positive person with a demonstrated talent to manage continuous improvement.
