For AstraZeneca we are now looking for a Molecular Biologist: Transgenics for consultant assignments until 2015-06-31 with possibility for extension. The assignments starts September 22nd 2014.

Publiceringsdatum2014-07-24Dina arbetsuppgifterWe are seeking a scientific and technical specialist in the mouse transgenic field. As a successful candidate you are experimentally focused, with strong troubleshooting skills, adept at putting ideas into practice and providing support to our mouse model generation pipeline.
The main tasks will be the generation and analysis of transgenic animal and cell models, aligned with broad AstraZeneca R&D needs. You will have experience in transgenic models and, from a lab-based perspective, make significant contributions to the practical delivery of project goals.
Utbildning/erfarenhet
You are an experienced graduate or hold a PhD in a scientific discipline, typically chemistry, pharmacy or a biological science. You have experience in executing strategies for genome modification for animal and cell models, a strong molecular biology background is essential together with an in-depth understanding and experience of cutting edge methodologies employed to modify mammalian genomes. Furthermore you have excellence and hands-on experience in a wide range of cell and molecular biology methods including TaqMan and genotyping. Adept at genomic analysis of transgenic models, particularly in detection and quantitation of gene expression and experience of handling multiple mouse models simultaneously.
Ideally you have experience in a relevant scientific discipline preferably with several years of experience in transgenic model development, drug discovery and/or early development.
You take responsibility for actions and results, and encourage others to do the same. You strive to improve cross-functional work and eliminate activities that do not create value.
