Who are we?
Interior trim is a section that belongs to Interior Engineering, consisting of six groups, working with a wide range of technologies and materials, e.g. door trim, concealing panels, pillar trim, sill mouldings, rear door trim, headlining systems, carpets, NVH insulations & absorbents, interior light, functional parts, luggage covers and trunk trim. A majority of all parts are developed in-house on built to print basis, by groups focused on delivering world class interiors for our future cars. We are responsible for all product documents defining the interior trim of the car.

Interior trim, is looking for a Method and Operational Development Leader. The Method and Operational Development Leader will belong to our Program execution group that lead the section deliveries in: Advanced Engineering, Concept, Industrialisation, Launch, Cost reduction, Quality, and Running changes. We are about 12 colleagues in our group and placed in Torslanda.

As a Method and Operational Development Leader your focus is on developing the section methods and operations, supporting our vision "a flawless launch". You will together with our system responsible (SA), design engineers and verifications coordinators identify verification gaps and develop methods that will eventually close these gaps. The target is to ensure 100% Design Verification by CAE methods at FDJ with high confidence. In addition you will run a number of operational development projects, strengthening the overall section performance. You will report to the Interior trim management team.


Main tasks
* Develop work processes to support all the CAE centres within Volvo Cars
* Lead CAE development and implementation within Interior trim for growing capacity
* Decide which load cases to be performed by the CAE resources dedicated for Interior Trim
* Identify and define appropriate load cases to be simulated in new projects
* Educate and support design engineers in CAE methods, eg Catia FEM
* Analyse field quality data and develop test methods that will mitigate future reoccurrence.
* Develop the overall section performance by managing operational development projects
* Manage the Method Development portfolio for Interior trim

* Manage the Advanced Engineering portfolio for Interior trim


Required qualifications
* M.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
* Knowledge in our product development process (VPDS), systems and tools
* Experience of Product development preferably as CAE engineer
* Knowledge of the Interior systems and complete vehicle is meritorious.
* Good knowledge of plastic design and design working methods.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills (Swedish and English)
