Forum Syd organises capacity building on topics related to development cooperation, project management, and civil society strengthening. We offer on-line courses to civil society organisations around the globe, as well as face-to-face trainings and seminars for Swedish organisations in Sweden. The position of Method and Capacity Development Coordinator will have its main focus on capacity development, specifically on the e-Learning programme. It will coordinate learning processes and exchange of best practices within method development. The position is placed at the Impact and Quality Assurance department in Stockholm owning the global processes of grant management, programme development, method and capacity development.

Areas of responsibility
• Develop and ensure the implementation of Forum Syd's overall global strategies for method and capacity development.
• Coordinate Forum Syd's global E-learning programme.
• Lead and support the development of course content in collaboration with the Forum Syd staff from other parts of the organisation and/or external parties.
• Monitor trends and best practices within the area of capacity development, specifically within E-Learning.
• Contribute to Forum Syd's work with method development.
• Other tasks related to the work in the department and delegated by line manager.

Qualifications required
• Relevant academic degree in Development Studies, International Relations, Social Science, Political Science, Human Rights, Pedagogy or equivalent qualifications obtained in another way.
• Minimum 5 years of work experience in a relevant position.
• Experience of developing and/or working with capacity development strategies, as well as planning and conducting trainings and organizational learning.
• Extensive experience with ICT and the use of e-learning platforms.
• Experience with method development.
• Excellent project management skills.
• Good understanding of the role of the civil society in development.
• Good knowledge in Swedish, and excellent ability to express oneself orally and in writing in English.

Desired qualifications
• Understanding of development theory and the human rights based approach to development.
• Understanding of the role of the civil society for/in development and the discourse of enabling environment for civil society.
• Experience with organisational and capacity development of civil society globally.
• Experience with mainstreaming of gender, environment and conflict sensitivity in projects/programs.
• Excellent knowledge in Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation (PME) and Result Based Management (RBM).

We hope we could recruit a person as soon as possible. This position is located at Forum Syd's head office in Stockholm, Sweden. Duty travels are part of the position.
