Mechatronics Specialist

We are looking for a Mechatronics Specialist within the fields of experimental verification of concepts and prototypes. You will be a key player in the System Research team working with the latest EBM technology for our product platforms. You will be working in a creative and innovative team to develop strategies for mechatronics development and secure technology readiness for further industrialization. Also, you will have an important role in an upcoming EU project together with a partner located in Cambridge, England.

Your daily work includes proof of concept design and testing for the next generation of Arcam EBM products. You will participate in keeping our technological roadmap attractive by understanding future customer needs. This includes develop and maintain internal and external relations to share experiences and bring in new ideas. The position will include occasional travelling a few times a year.

Main responsibilities:

• Mechatronics role that leads the deployment of new concepts into our machines by integrating electronic, control and/or mechanical solutions
• Coordination with mechanical and electrical designers to organize system integration efforts
• Develop new prototype control hardware and software to interface subsystems
• Define requirement for functions and modules
• Participation and coordination of research projects related to machine integration with internal or external partners
• Testing and verification of functions and modules
Requirements

• Ph.D. or master's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
• At least five years of experience in relevant industry or academia
• Experience in Matlab, LabVIEW, Python or equivalent is a plus
• Excellent level of English, both written and spoken
• An open mind, a willingness to find innovative solutions and to deliver results
