We are looking for a Mechanical Engineering Designer with a deep technical interest to work with sheet-metal design and boundary parts. You should also be interested in designing and finding technical solutions.
Who we are
Our Section, Closures, which is part of Painted Body and Closure, consists of four groups (Door mechanics, Door structure, Rear-opening system and Sealing system). Since we both have in-house design and supplier designed components, the network is very broad. The teams are cross functional with other R&D departments, design department, manufacturing engineering and supplier.
What we offer
As a Mechanical Engineering Designer, you will work in an engineering team where you will contribute with engineering work on system and component level. You shall create and propose engineering solution based on given area and in dialogue with principle engineers, system responsible and boundary functional areas. All work will be done in Gothenburg with a high involvement from different sections and areas.
What you will do
As a Mechanical Engineering Designer, you should be a team player with excellent communication skills. We work very close and are dependent on each other. This together with many downstream users puts high demands on a well-organized way of working. Also, you need to be adaptable and open minded to changes since the concepts are under constant development. You are responsible for engineering part/component/system and find out solutions, and need to consider several areas and attributes as well as Design. Good Catia skills and being proactive to solve issues before they occur, is of importance to make deliveries with high quality.
You and your skills
We would like you to have a BSc degree (or above) in mechanical engineering or equivalent as working experiences. You should have worked more than 5 years in the automotive industry, especially in closure area. We appreciate that you have gotten engineering experiences in sheet metal parts design, engineering sheet metal parts and door hinge and door stop.
We also would like that you have an open-minded mind-set, like to take challenges and welcome changes. We prefer that you have a background of working with car project involving sheet metal parts. You may have good practical and theoretical knowledge within car industry. You can take decisions based on facts and data and influence a decision in a positive way.
We are looking for a personality that will bring in new ideas, Self-driven thinking and competence in the management team of door structure in order for us to be well prepared for the future.
