We are now looking for a skilled Design for Assembly Engineer in our group within Operations.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
The Design for Assembly Engineer will play a key role within the product development process to ensure that the products are smartly designed for volume production and that the production units have the right prerequisite and instructions to produce.
You will contribute with expertise in product development and product maintenance projects and drive producibility activities. The position requires an ability to influence cross functionally with focus on simplicity, smart design, robustness to secure high-quality products. It is important to have an overall system understanding and a mindset to always improve yourself.
Furthermore, you will develop and implement assembly instructions, production methods and equipment at the production sites, both at different contract manufacturers (EMS) and at our configuration centers.
The position requires travelling up to 50 days a year.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
Axis is looking for a positive, open minded, hands on and driven individual with a mechanical university degree or similar with experience within the relevant areas. Focus on smart and robust solutions, strive for simplicity i.e. reduced complexity are key factors for the position. Hands-on assembly of system solutions and volume production knowledge is a clear advantage for the role.
You have excellent communication skills both in English and Swedish and a strong ability to collaborate and influence across both organizational and cultural boarders.
Furthermore, you have good knowledge in MS Office, CAD and PDM-system (preferably Creo and Windchill). Experience of optics alignment, basic understanding of electronics and SMT production are considered as an advantage. DESIGN FOR ASSEMBLY GROUP (DfA)
The Design for Assembly team is involved in all stages of a products lifetime e.g.
Actively involved in product projects with focus on smart design for volume production.
Be closely involved in projects from Start to Hand over.
Being a responsible part for product transfers between production sites when needed.
Introduction/Implementation of complex product changes
Supply of mandatory documentation needed for volume production and handover process.
The main collaboration interfaces are: R&D, EMS's, Configuration & Logistic Centers and the Quality Department.
