We are looking for a Design Engineer to join our group Base Engine Upper!
At the engineering department of Base Engine design, we are responsible for development of the internal combustion engine. The organization is divided into 4 different design groups and one of these groups, Base Engine Upper, is now looking for a new colleague to join as Design Engineer. The group consists of 11 persons, divided into 3 teams responsible for Valve train, Cylinder head and VVT.
What you'll do
You will be design responsible in the Valve train team but you also support the Cylinder head team when needed. The work is mostly related to components like camshaft, valve, seats, springs and guides, but cylinder head and cam bearing house can also be included.
The role includes a lot of contact with different parts of the organisation as well as several external suppliers. You will initiate the CAE and our test department, as well as following up on the results and ensure technical documentation. You will also be in contact with our engine factories to secure the assembly process.
You and your skills
You have design experience and are skilled in CATIA V5. We also believe that you have a basic knowledge and interest in combustion engines; it will definitely help you in your daily work. A knowledge of Volvo development processes and internal IT systems we see as a plus.
To be successful in this position, it is necessary to have good communication skills and a structured approach. It is also important that you are able to handle many complex situations and questions simultaneously. As a person, you are self-driven and have a positive attitude. You are also result oriented and can push towards solutions.
