Now we are looking for 3 Mechanical Design Engineers to join our Business Areas Children's IKEA, Bedroom & Bathroom and Kitchen & Dining. Kitchen solutions with the brain on the inside and beauty on the outside, Bathroom, a space where I feel good and can be fully me, and Children's IKEA, where we develop products for the most important people, always from their perspective in a playful way.
About the job
As Mechanical Design Engineer you are responsible to translate requirements through ideas and concepts into technical solutions captured in our product documentation. We apply a right from the beginning approach with proactive analytics methods in order to ensure we meet our customers need and legal requirements.
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for:
• Develop, optimize and visualize the mechanical design of products with different materials and functions in the business area range from concept sketch to final product;
• Ensure that all mechanical requirements (legal as functional) are covered by the product design;
• Responsible to apply Design for Manufacturing, Quality, Safety, Logistic, Cost, Assembly and Sustainability;
• Responsible to perform basic Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) analysis such as static finite element analysis (FEA) and optimization including act as interface towards simulation engineers;
• Create and maintain Bill of Materials, 3D CAD models and drawings including relevant dimensions and tolerances;
• Order, manage and be the main contact with IKEA of Sweden prototype department.
