What you will be a part of
Surveillance provides efficient solutions for safety and security, for surveillance and decision support, and for threat detection and protection. The portfolio covers airborne, ground-based and naval radar, electronic warfare, combat systems and C4I solutions, and traffic management systems.
The Airborne Surveillance Systems business unit has business responsibility for all airborne radar systems such as AEW&C (Airborne Early Warning and Control), Carabas, Gripen radar, but also our operations within datalinks and laser. The business unit is primarily formed of around 400 employees in Gothenburg.

There is now an opportunity to be a key player in developing the next generation for user interfaces for Command and Control systems. The challenge here is to manage massive amounts of data and present them in an understandable way utilizing modern and future technology.
Description
We need two students to design and develop a prototype for a user-centered Graphical User Interface for the next generation Command and Control system. This prototype shall utilize one or more different new technologies for e g 3D visualisation and touch input, in order to evaluate the usefulness of these technologies in this type of application. This system lets the user interact with the Airborne Early Warning systems and other sensor systems. The Command and Control system gives the user situational awareness and overview of data collected by all sensors.
The technology in consumer products develops faster than ever. For Saab to be able to adapt to new ways of working and younger users, Saab needs to explore the possibility to use todays and the futures technology in our Command and Control system for Airborne Early Warning aircraft. You will be an important part in taking our products into the future.#LI-DNP
Your skills and experience
We are looking for two students, one software developer and one interaction designer, who will together design and develop the software. The students can apply as a pair or individually.
Good skills in English, both spoken and in writing, is meritorious.
The position entails working with classified information. Therefore, you are required to participate in and pass a security test conducted by authority.
