Arbetsuppgifter
Master Thesis
During the thesis project, you will work on CFD methodology for fuel leaks in gas turbine enclosures. You will focus on creating a methodology for setting up and running CFD simulations for fuel leaks. To achieve this, you will collaborate and discuss with package experts about our current requirements for safe operation according to international standards, as well as conduct research on the physical behavior of fuel leaks. Subsequently, you will implement a model in one of our CFD tools to optimize our internal development processes and offer new solutions for a decarbonized energy system.

Expected Results of the Master Thesis:
• You will further advance our CFD simulation methodologies.
• Conduct comparative studies on how different boundary conditions affect fuel leaks inside the gas turbine enclosure.
• Contribute to the improvement of options and solutions offered to our customers.
• Participate in the development of safer products.

Trainee Program
During the trainee program, you will receive further education through a combination of theory, practice, and real-life cases. The trainee program involves the opportunity to balance education with practical work in various technical areas. You will receive in-depth training in the various systems you will work with, as well as a comprehensive understanding of Siemens Energy's organization, processes, and working methods, etc. You will work with people from all over the world and have the opportunity to develop and deepen your technical interest.

You will become a part of an open and dynamic workplace where professional and personal development is highly valued. You will have the chance to develop your interpersonal skills by collaborating with several engineering teams and gaining knowledge about how a gas turbine functions.

Within the D&S Mechanical Systems department, which is part of the main department for the development and standardization of our medium-sized gas turbine packages, there are three teams working on fire and gas safety, acoustics, gear and coupling systems. In the acoustics team, there are 11 engineers working closely with colleagues from fire and gas safety and fuel systems. We continuously strive to improve cooperation and knowledge to provide better and more efficient solutions to our customers. Currently, we are working on a hybrid schedule, spending at least three days a week at the office in Finspång, where we have the opportunity to discuss matters in person and socialize with colleagues. As a trainee and part of the Siemens Hub, you have the opportunity to work remotely from Norrköping in a local workspace one-two days a week. When the trainee program concludes, you will continue working in the regular business as a consultant.

You will receive a tailored training program based on your background and experience. You will have a dedicated mentor from the department to help you get a strong start in your trainee position. You will be employed as a consultant at Skill and receive a monthly salary during both the thesis project and the trainee program.

Profil
• You are a master's student in mechanical engineering, engineering physics, physics, or a related field.
• You have a strong interest in conducting complex CFD analyses and solving practical problems through simulations.
• You enjoy applying analytical skills in your work to enhance the safety of our gas turbines and contribute to the transition to green and carbon-free power generation.
• You possess basic knowledge of CFD tools.
• Willingness to read literature and standards to acquire the necessary knowledge.
