With current investments exceeding $12 billion, it is one of the largest port development projects in the world. Sohar houses three clusters: logistics, petrochemicals and metals. Its terminals handle containers, general cargo, dry bulk and liquid bulk. Situated just outside the Strait of Hormuz, the Port of Sohar is well connected to the booming economies of the Arabian Gulf and the Indian Subcontinent - making it the ideal logistics hub. The management of the industrial port lies with Sohar Industrial Port Company (SIPC), a 50/50 joint venture between the Government of Oman and the Port of Rotterdam.
Oman is a very nice country. Equal rights exist for man and women. In SIPC man and women from Holland, England, India and Oman are working closely together.
We offer a position as: Corporate Communication Manager
The Role:
Organising the in- and external communication of SIPC. Dealing with all kinds of stakeholders, informing them and setting up dialogues. The Corporate Communication Manager reports directly to the CEO. Marketing communication is primary a responsibility of the Marketing Department. In our office English is the official language.
The Person:
Combines professionalism and strategic insight with a hands-on mentality. (S)he knows how to convert communication problems in measurable targets - and knows how to reach them. A real networker who relates well to his/her colleagues with the industries. (S)he is sensitive to cultural differences in an international working environment.
The Tasks:
Producing strategies and year plans regarding corporate communication;
executing these year plans;
supervising supporting agencies;
advising the management of SIPC in corporate communication matters;
managing budgets;
writing press releases;
being spokesperson to the media;
giving presentations to journalists and VIP's.
The Requirements:
Preferably higher education in communication and marketing. Excellent command of the English language, both spoken and written. Candidates have at least 3 years of experience in a similar position.
Salary depends on experience. Salary is tax free. Housing, car, insurance, flights (twice a year) to and from Sweden etc. is taken care off.
