Manager, The English Shop - Gothenburg
Do you have retail experience, English as mother-tongue, and heaps of enthusiasm for English food, drinks and books? Then you could be exactly the person we are looking for.
The English Shop in Gothenburg is a small, busy shop with a loyal customer base. Over the coming year we are aiming to give our Gothenburg store an overhaul - to improve both the shop environment and the stock levels and range available. The Manager will play an important role in our planned improvements, and will be expected to travel to Stockholm on occasion for meetings with the owners and management of the shop there.
Skills, knowledge and experience:
• Experience of working in a shop, preferably a food or book shop
• English as mother-tongue, confident Swedish
• Management experience an advantage
• Knowledge of English food and drink, and a general interest in food
• Enthusiasm for English literature - particularly teenage and childrens' fiction
• Sound organisational skills
Your role will include:
• Management of a small team of staff
• Ordering of stock, either direct to supplier or via the Stockholm shop
• Drawing up staff rotas on a monthly basis and ensuring the shop is always staffed to appropriate levels
• Working in the shop on a full-time basis, keeping it well stocked and clean
• Occasional travel to Stockholm for meetings

Full time. 1 year contract, with 3 months probationary period.

Set salary according to skills and experience.
