hela Sverige The Global Customs Department is responsible for Global Governance and process development for all of Volvo Car Group globally in the field of Customs and Customs Compliance and for customs operations in Europe.
The actual operations was until recently handled as an outsourced service. Next step will be to take the actual customs operations in our own hands. For this reason a new department within Global Customs (EMEA Customs Operations) has been established. With this new department, the Volvo Car Customs team in Europe will consist of 30+ people - all highly specialized and committed to delivering an outstanding service to match our vehicles.
As part of EMEA Customs Operations there will be 3 departments; a declaration department in Belgium, a declaration department in Sweden, and a department for special procedures and master data also in Sweden. The new Swedish declaration department is currently primarily manned with consultants. In midterm we will recruit new personnel (or convert consultants) to take on the new tasks. To help us build this department the first hire is the Manager Swedish Customs
The Swedish Declaration department will be ca. 14-17 people doing declarations and handling all day-to-day operations in cooperation with the Belgian department. The department will handle more than 40,000 transits, imports and exports per year and will be operating 24 hours a day 6 days a week. To cover all activities, the department will therefore work in shifts. The new Manager will together with the Senior Manager for EMEA Customs Operations, the Manager for the Belgian Customs Declaration department and with the remaining Volvo Cars' Global Customs team be responsible for setting up the new department, establishing new work processes and for recruiting the needed personnel.
This is a unique opportunity to be allowed the chance to not only take charge of a large customs declaration department with exciting challenges but also to be allowed a deciding influence on both the team with whom to work and how to perform the work in the future.
Main Responsibilities:
* Take responsibility for the implementation and creation of the new department.
* Hiring personnel and building a well-functioning team
* Establish work schedules and methodologies
* Determining future work processes and procedures
* Defining goals, KPI:s and targets for the department
* Continuous development with the team to ensure improvement on compliance, efficiency, and quality
Required Qualifications:
* Minimum 5 years of experience in an in-house customs declaration functions or with a customs brokering firm
* Experience in working on international customs assignments or projects
* Leadership experience
* Project management skills and experience
