What you will be a part of
Surveillance provides efficient solutions for safety and security, for surveillance and decision support, and for threat detection and protection. The portfolio covers airborne, ground-based and naval radar, electronic warfare, combat systems and C4I solutions, and traffic management systems.
The EW Systems Business Unit is responsible for electronic warfare applications such as radar warning receivers, jamming systems, countermeasure dispensing systems and signal intelligence systems. The Signal Processing department within EW Systems consists of one Systems Architecture and three software development sections, one of which is Signal Processing Software.
The Signal Processing Software section consists of highly skilled software development engineers, primarily working with cutting edge technology and electronic warfare applications for the Saab Surveillance EW systems. The section is also heavily involved in R&D work e.g. Machine Learning-AI and in cross border Co-development. Our development is done by teams in a modern, agile fashion with distributed responsibilities and high efficiency. Our toolchain ties planning, issue tracking and source control together in a tight loop. Our cooperative working culture, the EW Spirit, is the foundation to our success and contribution to Saab.
You will join a great management team and report to the manager of the Signal Processing department. You will be located in Järfälla with the occasional travelling.
Your role
As manager for Signal Processing Software, we believe you will coach us to further improve our products as well as our organisation with the following responsibilities:
Actively support our product development and our ongoing projects
With a deep understanding of our product roadmaps and project plans, ensure that your staff has the competence to handle current and future work, in an international context when required
Ensure that your section and staff have clear goals and the strategies for reaching there
Network internally and externally to share experiences and to bring inspiration and improvements into our organisation
Maintain an innovative climate and reuse of technology for new applications
Recruit and introduce new employees
Support personal development and the overall well-being of your staff
Further move us towards a DevOps organisation
Further improve our global cooperation within Saab

Your skills and experience
A Master's degree in a relevant discipline or the equivalent working experience
Leadership experience with a background in software development
A solid understanding and experience of agile development and management
Fluent in English and experience from working in an international business environment
A proactive and reliable team player with good communications skills
Ability to set clear goals and the strategies for reaching them
Ability to make changes happen
This position includes access to classified information, therefore you are required to conduct a security screening in accordance with the Protective Security Act and be approved for security clearance by the authority.
