Responsible for improving Quality, Productivity, Cycle Time, and Cost in Leads manufacturing through process and product development.
Job Description:
Working in strong relationship with the managers in manufacturing Has primary management responsibility directly or through staff to identify, plan, and direct Leads Technology Development from
concept to transfer to NPD.
Primary Tasks are as follows:
• Establishes and continually fosters a strong, multi-functional, results oriented team environment
• Collaborates closely with manufacturing to identify Quality, Productivity, Cycle Time, and Cost opportunities
• Utilizes continuous improvement principles such as Lean and Six Sigma to optimize processes and products
• Collaborates with Sylmar and Puerto Rico to share best practices and transfer manufacturing processes and products
• Assists NPD in assuring programs meet contract objectives for quality, speed, innovation, and cost
• Mentors, coaches, and develops staff into highest levels of performance
• Rapid responder to quality and manufacturing problems when they arise
Needed Qualifications:
Required:
• A BS degree in a relevant Engineering discipline, a related field, or equivalent.
• Typically a minimum of six plus years of progressively more responsible relevant engineering and management work experience including extensive experience in the medical device industry.
• A minimum of three plus years of demonstrated experience at a supervisory/managerial level is typical.
• Requires extensive knowledge of manufacturing, continuous improvement principles, process technologies, and operations.
• Requires highly developed leadership skills/experience sufficient to assume the responsibilities of this management position, including the ability to map task interdependencies, multi-task,
prioritize such tasks, meet deadlines, and develop, monitor and live within budgets as well as the demonstrated ability to forecast major milestones.
• Requires comprehensive verbal and written communication, analytical and problem solving skills, negotiation, judgment and decision-making, interpersonal, and presentation skills are essential.
