Development and Runtime Support is part of Shared IT services and a cross Group IT function responsible for Process, Methods and Tools, Development Practices and Frameworks used in IT Service/Solution Development and Runtime deliveries. The unit is also responsible for Group IT internal information management, and VPS4IT competence center.
Development platforms
The main objective of the department is to ensure availability of methods and support for development platforms and tools used at Volvo, to support efficient application development The platforms in scope are BI analytics, Mainframe, IBMi, SAP development and general development tools supporting our Application Development Framework (ADF).
The department is providing Instructor led Trainings, Guidelines and Coaching in the relevant areas.
We have 2 departments working with development platforms and we are looking for the manager for one of them.
What will you be doing?
As Manager of Development platforms you have a key role in driving efficiency in and development of the development platforms area across Group IT and is responsible for the performance and development of the department. You will play a key role in the Devops transformation in Group IT as responsible for the tools automating the process.
Core responsibilities
• Manage development of the department and set the business goals for the team
• Drive usage and implementation of decided, methods and tools
• Sharing of best practices and managing urser networks cross Group IT
• Development platforms
• SAP development,
• BI/IM analytic tools
• Mainframe
• IBMi
• General development tools ( Jira, HP ALM and others)
• Operation and availability of common development platforms in scope
• Securing training and coaching for in the areas in scope
• Secure compliance to common way of working in Group IT
• Identify improvement needs and develop yearly improvement plan
• Plan and execute related trainings
• Create and follow up on budget and costs
• Manage and lead the team, including resource planning
• Contribute to the DRS management team

Wanted profile
As a Manager Development platforms you will create an efficient and trustful day-to-day operation. You have proven experience as a leader in various delivery positions and excel in demonstrating core values according to the Volvo Way.
Since you are part of a global unit, with global responsibilities, you will need to actively cooperate with various stakeholders and navigate with ease in a multi-cultural environment. You also have a strong quality focus and a personal drive to reach the objectives and targets set for your unit.
Required competencies
• Solid knowledge of development platforms and methods
• Genuine interest for developing and coaching people
• Proven experience from leading in an IT delivery organization (project, operations)
• Minimum 3 years' experience in managing a team in a global context, plus cross cultural awareness and skills
• Excellent communication & presentation skills
• ITIL and ITSM knowledge
• Experience from IT service delivery
• Experience from Application development
• Proven proficiency in English is a requirement
• Relevant university degree
• Strong focus on quality
