Your role will be to develop both the people and the organization to serve our clients in the best way. In addition to this you organize the daily work by handling customer requests, managing resources and etc.
Approximately 50% of the time will be used for technical job within the material area.
Initiating and driving business important basic development projects is also an important part of the mission.
You take part in the Specialist Engineering Services management team.

Atlas Copco is Serching for a Manager - Materials Laboratory Rocktec,
The Materials Laboratory Group at Rocktec division serves all divisions within Mining and Rock Excavation, as well as some other divisions outside that business area, with specialist competence in Material science and tests.
Our rock excavation equipment operates during very severe conditions, above as well under ground, all around the globe. They must operate in an equally excellent way in extreme cold as in tropical heat, soaked with highly corrosive mine water, and covered with stone dust. In addition, the equipment is exposed to complex load conditions and impact loads during operation, which naturally put high demands on the materials.
The materials laboratory has advanced instruments at disposal on-site for surface characterization, chemical analysis, evaluation of mechanical properties, failure analysis, etc. We also have a library with handbooks, standards and other technical literature. Through collaboration with external resources we have access to all necessary tools to handle all kinds of material related issues. In addition, we have access to the powerful semantic research tool IHS Goldfire.
EDUACATION KNOWLEDDGE AND EXPERIENCE
You have a MSc or PhD in mechanical/material engineering with several years of experience within this field. You are a good leader, preferably with some years of experience as a manager.
PERSONALITY
You like to work with people, both with clients and with the team members and have proven leadership skills. You have excellent communication skills both spoken and written. You are also goal oriented with a strong urge to accomplish results. You have a positive attitude, are pro-active, tend to see solutions and strive for improvements. To succed in this role you must be well structured and organized and have a strong sense of ownership, taking responsibility and leading until a successful conclusion.
