Industrial Design Competence Center (IDCC), is the global in house design agency for Epiroc. We are a brand driven design agency, specialized in branding, design strategy, product and service design to support our divisions in delivering value and meaningful experiences to the market. From our office in Orebro, Sweden, we work hand-in-hand with our colleagues at CMTEC India, serving our Epiroc clients - ranging from surface, exploration and excavation to underground drilling.
Job description
As the manager for IDCC, your mission will be to ensure that the IDCC services provided will be the first choice for the Epiroc divisions.
In this role you are going to have an extensive cooperation within the Epiroc's engineering, marketing and communication departments as well as external consultancies. You will work with various competences, scales of projects and platforms. You will have great responsibility and play a crucial role in bringing the Epiroc's innovative and trend setting solutions to market. You like to take the opportunity to market the center's services cross-functional and are passionate about the center's role as an internal provider of services.
As the manager IDCC you will focus on
- Develop a business driven organization providing design expertise and services to the Epiroc group as well as divisions in a professional manner
- Engage external service providers that could complement IDCC services and ensure flexibility and shorter lead times
- Ensure that employees are sufficiently trained and motivated to fulfil the mission, as well as respect and live up to Epiroc's values
You take part in the Engineering Services management team.
Education, Knowledge and Experience
You have a university degree in Industrial Design, combined with five or more years of people management experience and proven leadership skills. To be successful in this position you will need to demonstrate a good understanding of customer needs and market requirements. Experience from construction or mining related industry is considered an advantage as well as experience of design or visualization within automobile industry, heavy machine industry or business-to-business.

You like to work with people, both with clients and with the team members. It is required that you are able to negotiate, present and market the Industrial Design Competence Center's ideas and points-of-view in a convincing, self-confident yet humble way. You are a result-oriented leader with a positive attitude and the ability to develop your team. You see what needs to be done and have a strong sense of ownership, taking responsibility and leading your team until a successful conclusion has been reached. You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a passion for continuous improvement and quality.
